Hello on the last day of 2010!! We're going to celebrate new years just with the two of us this evening, something we never did before :D We bought alchol free kids champagne (for the Dutch people lekkere Jip en Janneke champagne van de Hema) and today we're going to buy some delicous oliebollen and appelflappen. I'm sorry but i don't know the right translation in English. You can see the 'oliebollen' on the picture above!

Spring clothing

I know we're still in the middle of winter, but i already received the Spring Magazine from H&M. Although i will have to wait with ordering skirts, dresses or jeans, it made me happy just to look at those pages filled with spring cuteness! Here are the things that i've ordered. It's a mix of clothing, a bracelet and some cute flowers for my hair ♥

Cute right?!

Birthday wishes

My bigest wish is almost coming true... having a baby and becoming a mommy! But even so a mom to be also has her own birthday wishes and no these aren't presents for the baby ha ha My birthday is just one week away at January the 5th! Last monday when we went for our baby checkup i ran into a father from school who is a next to his job also an photographer. He asked me if i already had peeks of my belly and although i really wanted this somehow we hadn't come so far. So of course i said YES!! Tonight he is coming over to our house with his photo equipment and i will be having a private at home photoshoot! Exciting right?!

So really i can't complain at all!! Becoming a mommy soon and a private photoshoot at home this evening are the best gifts already ♥ But even so i made a little list with birthday wishes, here we go!

Okay i must admit they are a little to high for me,
but some pretty new heels would be awesome :)
I haven't walked on heels during the pregnancy, so
i would love to walk on my heels again.
I don't have many heels, i'm more a woman

Add some glitter in your life!

I hope you all enjoyed your own Christmas days with family and friends! My countdown of daily Christmas posts ended the same day as Christmas eve started ;) In the Netherlands we always celebrate two days of Christmas, so the whole weekend it was merry, bright and full of snow for us :D These past few days were just wonderful, relaxed, cozy and filled with family and some alone time together with Harold ♥

I always wonder why it's 'okay' to wear glitter and decorate your house with glitter during Christmas and New years and keep it hidden for the rest of the year? I just love a little bling bling whole year round! Who cares if it's not trendy anymore, i know i don't! Just add a little glitter during the year to come. It's so easy to add just a little glitter with your daily outfit. Wear a glittery watch, put a glitter flower in you hair, wear eyeshadow with glitter, wear silver shiny shoes, bag etc Glitter up your life ♥

ps 1 we finished the nursery today, so pictures tomorrow!!

1 day before Xmas ☃

This evening it's already Christmaseve, can you believe it?! We will be starting this evening by eating over at my parents and unwrapping gifts from under the tree. Tomorrow will be the first day of Christmas and we're going to spend most of that day with Harolds parents. On Sunday we will be having the whole day to ourselves.... the last Christmas with just the two of us ;) I have always loved Christmas days because: it's more quiet because (almost) everything is closed, you get to spend time with the family all together, playing games, watching movies, read magazines, go for a walk... I have never experienced that Christmas stress and i think that's a good thing ;) I just love going to my family and spending time together ♥

I want to wish all my readers lovely, warm, cozy and magical Christmas days ♥

Love,
Vera

How colorful is your Christmas??
XO. Vera

2 days before Xmas ☃

For today i made another easy and decorative table idea. I have so many pretty paper napkins lying around and if i use them i normally don't use the whole package. So i would say: 'Start looking in those cupboards!' You can use all your cute leftover napkins and make the dinnertable festive!! If you don't have any paper napkins, you can also use leftover wrappingpaper (if it's to thin just fold it, so you will have it in a double layer), scrapbookpapers or left over craftpaper (i've used the last one!). Let's go have a look :D

DIY - a pretty 'bag' for your spoon, knife and fork-
option 1
I used two sorts of paper
(washi tape is optionel)

If made the border by sewingmachine,
using a cute pattern. If you don't have
a sewingmaching you can do it by hand,
or choose to use washitape to seal the
sides (make sure it's closed!).

DIY - a pretty 'bag' for your spoon, knife and fork-
option 2
a piece of paper and a paper napkin

place your napkin over your piece of
paper and decide how you want

on the back it will look like this!
then fold the edges on the back

You can use another piece of
green paper for the back. This
way your napkin won't be showing
on the back and is neatly looking
on both sides.

Or you can choose to do it like i did
on the picture below

i used my sewingmachine to
add the napkin to the paper.
i didn't use an extra piece of
paper on the back, so then it will
look like this!

also sewing by hand or using washi
tape (or even glue) will do the trick ;)

And another pretty 'bag' is born!

Happy dinner!! XO. Vera

3 days before Xmas ☃

With only 3 more days to go, Christmas is really getting near! This today DIY is great as Christmas table decoration! You can make it yourself, but if you have childeren you can also make these decoration (name) stones with them or they are a little older you can let them do the job ;)

DIY - decorated (name) stones -
You will need:
- (partly flatted) stones
- acrylic paint
- a brush
- (jewellery) glue
-sequins
- snowpen

If you don't have jewellery glue, just use
a glue that's will work on stone.

And if you don't have a snow pen, you
can use a silver/gold/white marker instead.

Just a few steps and you're ready!
  1. paint the stones on both sides
  2. add the glue in lottle dots on the bottem of the stones and glue the sequins on
  3. write the letters you want on each stone with the snowpen
I've painted my stones in shiny purple, but you can use any color you like! You can also use several colors or maybe just two, do what ever you like :)
I wrote the word Xmas on the stones, but you can also make namestones out of them! So when everyone is taking place at the Christmasdinnertable they will know where to sit. And as a gift you can let them take the stones home ❤

i used them like this!

I hope you are enjoying these daily Christmas posts! Are you ready yet or do you still have lots to do?? We're going to do the last shopping things at the groceries tomorrow and then we will be done!! There is still lot's of snow outside, so we'll be having a white Christmas this year! Oh before i forget, just a little baby update! Today Harold and i went to the weekly checkup for the baby and he's just lying perfect (with his head all the way down)! Tomorrow i will be 37 weeks, so not only Xmas is getting closer ;) XO. Vera

4 days until Xmas ☃ BONUS

Time for another DIY! I just love making headbands, it's sort of addictive ha ha I started making the headband above for Xmas and i ended up making more! The one that i'm wearing on the picture above is made with a mix of two colors pink and black glitter yarn. it with double yarn, because it gets a little thicker this way ;) Crochet 60 singles and add anything that you like to the headband by using embroidery thread. I made a Christmasflower with pink glitter felt. If you don't have glitter felt you can use glitterspray as well, just spray it over your felt and let it dry ;)

DIY - headband with glittery stars-
You will need:
- a crochethook
- silver yarn and thicker purple yarn
-purple stars from foam
-needle
-embroidery thread

If you don't know how to crochet, just look
over at you tube and you will find lot's of
instruction videos how to do so.

Use two pieces of yarn and make 60 singles.
Now add the foam purple stars by using your
embroidery thread and secure them with
a single stitch. Make sure they are tight,
but not to tight!

ta da you're glittery stars headband is ready!

It was not easy to make a good picture,
but i think this one will do ;)

I hope you have enjoyed this little bonus ♥
