Cozy..

At my craftspace i also have a big white table in front of the window. I just love working over there, but i really haven't been able to craft much over the last few days. I've been busy with sorting out my things at the attic, one thing that i really want to cross off my tot-do list! It's not only my craftspace, but also the other side of the attic with (children)books, games, suitcases, holiday decorations, my paintings, study materials and things that i used as a teacher. I have already filled 4 garbage bags, collecting for a good cause and also gave some stuff away and made friends happy ❤ So that also explains why i haven't been crafting the last few days.

Yesterday it began to snow and although i have to wait with the Christmas decorations until the Sinterklaas celebration is over (December the 5th), i did put up my Xmas lights at my craftspace, just love them!

A crochet coffee/tea cozy with
a little pink glitter felt decoration.
I made two of them for a friend of mine.
She wants to give them as a Xmas gift
to the teachers of her little girl.
I'm gonna put some Xmas chocolats
inside and wrap it with a cute little tag.
Cute right?!

ps i bought the Slice cuttingmachine, now waiting for the package!!

To do list

image from weheartit.com

Wouldn't it be great to make a to list like this!? Make your own 'prepare for Christmas (muffin) tree.' Number the muffins depending on the things that you have to do! Maybe you will need a schedule for 25 days or just for 10 days, make it just like you want!

My to do list this year isn't only filled with Christmas preparations, but also with the preparations of the birth of our son. I won't bore you with that list :P A few other things that i hope to finish are:
- the pregnancy scrapbook for our son
- sorting out the attic/craftspace

For today we've planned a relaxed Sunday, for just the two of us!
Wishing you a lovely Sunday ♥ XO. Vera

Time...

image from weheartit.com

It's late and i do have to go to bed, but i wanted to make a little post for my sweet followers! The last few days i have been busy, but not really with crafty things (although i would love that). I'm now 33 weeks pregnant, soo we're moving closer towards January the 13th. That's the expecting birth date, but maybe our baby boy will be arriving earlier or later... surprise of mother nature ;)

This week i also made time to see some friends and i went back to the school that i used to work at when i was a teacher. I wanted to see my colleagues and of course the kids that i used to teach ♥ All fun things, but i didn't have energy or inspiration left to also do some crafting. However i did get a little assignement! A friend of mine asked me to make two Christmas gifts for the teachers of her daughters, how great is that!! I will show them to you, once they are finished, promised :D I'm also working on a pink Christmas wreath! All crafty things in progress, just love that!!

Thanxx for reading! Nigtienight ✰

just a little Xmas inspiration from Dutch magazines ☆

I have to admit that i'm magazine hooked! I have several memberships on different magazines, like home decoration ones, a yoga magazine and the happinez (sort of spiritual magazine). During the holiday season i always like to buy more magazines, because they are all full with Christmas inspiration and stories. Nothing better than curl up at the couch with a cup of hot chocolat and a pile of 'Xmas' inspiration magazines ❤

Just love this time of year! XO. Vera

Cutting machines

This morning it was time to wipe the dust from my cricut machine and use it again! I think i haven't used it for about one year at least and it's such a wonderful machine ❤ Today i rediscoverd the machine all over again. I started cutting out: labels, hearts, stars, muffins, envelops, little cards etc Along the way i also developed an idea for my Xmas cards :)

It was too dark to make really good pictures, but it's just to give you an idea!

Although i love this machine, it has it's limitations. I have the first version of this cuttingmachine and as far as i know i can't use it to cut other materials like for instance: foam, fabric, sheets etc Since i like to mix and match, it's something that i miss when i'm working with the cricut. So i'm thinkin' about buying the Slice cutting machine. I watched some instruction videos to see what the possibilities are and you can definetely use it with more materials!!

Do you have experience with one of these or both machines?? Can you tell me you experience or any advice?? I would love love to hear! XO. Vera

Relaxing day...

This morning i went to a book market, that's in town for 4 days. I can't remember it being so so crowed oh my! I surched for some cute crafting things and came home with: 2 stamps, lot's of glitter felt, a scrapbook kit, 2 small chipboard book kits, a book about applications, sparkling stickers and a lovely feel and touch book with forest animals ♥ After about one hour and happy with my new found 'treasures' i went home. I had lunch, watched Harry Potter and the half blood prince, slept for an hour, eat my daily fruit and are blogging now.... almost time to make dinner! Wishing you a lovely day, evening or night :D XO. Vera

ps i saw this owl over at Katja's blog, just love it!

Owls ❤

The owl painting for the nursery is done! I did a combination of paint, felt, fabric and woodgrain foil and i love how it turned out! Almost one week ago we saw my brother and his girlfriend and they gave us a cute cute cute owl musicbox. And guess what!? It's playing exactly the same song that i have been singing to my belly every night ❤ The owl musicbox is handmade by Bjoetiful gifts, here's a link to the website. These owls are perfect for the theme 'forest'. We are still waiting for some baby stuff to arrive, but as soon as everything is in order i will make peeks!! promised!!

On a foggy tuesday

Hello :D Thanks for stopping by over at my blog! I just made a peek with photobooth on my laptop. I love that i can make pictures everywhere i want now :) Today has been a very foggy day (love those days!) and it's starting to get darker earlier each day. Normally when i working i didn't like those days, leaving in the dark and getting home in the dark... but it's a different story now :) I love lighting my candles, just love that cozy house feelin'.... just can't wait for those Xmas lights!

Before i'm starting to cook and will be off to my pregnancy yoga lesson, i wanted to show you what i'm working on. This owl painting is for our baby boy's room when it's done.

DIY -Xmas soap garland-

It's DIY time!! It has been a little while, but i am looking forward to come up with more DIY's for the coming holiday season :) For today we are gonna make a Xmas soap garland. It's not a whole new concept, but i have made one with mixed materials. You can hang it in your bathroom or toilet, just for a little Xmas feelin' (and it smells great!) or make one as a Xmas gift :)

DIY -Xmas soap garland-
supplies:
- little white pompoms
-wooden beads
-little soap stars
- kitchen/garden yarn
-needle
-little piece of ribbon

1 I first started with knotting this cute heart

2. Then it is already time for the fun part!!
Thread all your things on the yarn the way
you like it. Your needle will get soap on it,
so it's necessary to clean it from time to time.
If it's difficult to pull the needle through use
your tshirt or a tea towel for it.

3. You can make it as long as you like!
When your done just make a knot at the end.

4. Finish it with a loop, this way you can
hang your soap garland easily.

5. Then it will look like this!
Cut the end and finish your garland
with a cute bow.

And you are done!

Sharing..

Hi, hope you are enjoying your weekend! First of all i wanted to share this amazing cute DIY that i found over at Kristi's blog! Go check it out :)

Yesterday i finally went to the hairdresser, yay! I think i haven't been there in about 1 year. However i did cut my own hair from time to time and that always seem to work too. That's very handy with that curly hair of mine :D They cut my hair a little yesterday and coloured it coffee with a little caramel lol. I will make peeks so that you can see for yourself how it turned out!

We're busy with putting furniture together, hanging lamps, reorganising and throughing lot's of things away :) And i must say it feels great!! This afternoon we are going to the movie to see 'Aus dem leben der Hillegard von Bingen' (a true story). Here's a (Dutch) link to the trailer, the movie itself is in German.

The small craft class had ended and although it's not really the time to finish all those projects right now, i have several great ideas for the years to come (for our little boy). So i'm printing everything and making a nice folder (sort of like a great ideabook!). I loved the handmade cards that Elsie made as one of the latest projects, here's one of them :)

Lovely blog(s)

I'm not a big fan of reading magazines or newspapers on the internet, but for this e-magazine i will make an exception! I love reading the blog of Danielle. Above i have used pictures of the sweetness that i found over at her blog, to give you an impression :) If you don't know a blog, check it out here And if you like to check out the link to the e-magazine, go over to this topic of her blog!

It's always fun to discover new blogs full of inspiration, so i thought it would be a great idea to share! Leave a comment with one or two of your most favorite blogs, this way you can exchange with all the other followers and you may discover new blogs ♥

Happy with my new ring!

I thought it was time to buy myself a gift! I've been wanting this ring ever since i saw it in a Dutch book called ' Maak het! met je creatieve webwinkel'. It's a book that contains story's of different creative people that are opening there own webshops. This embroidery ring is made by Corina Rietveld, if you like you can click HERE for the link to her website (you can also read it in English!). I just went over to the bakery through the wind and rain to buy some fresh bread. So i'm going to enjoy some lunch and will be back later :) XO.

creativi-tea

I just found this great peek at weheartit.com and it's just perfect for the phase i'm in. I want to be creative, but i also want to relax and drink a cup of tea xD I have dreams, hopes and ideas for Seni with love, but i realised that now isn't the time to make them all come true. Don't worry i will keep blogging and crafting, because i love it too much! I'm more talking about opening my own webshop and selling on markets ;) I find this time of year is the most inspirational with the fall and upcoming holidays....

I have to admit that i've reached the part of my pregnancy (almost 31 weeks) where i'm starting to forget things! It's really a weird experience for me, because i'm normally very organised. I now have lists with things that i normally won't have to write down, but it's better then forgetting about it right?!

What do you think of this new blog layout?? Just wanted to try something new :) XO.

wreath inspiration post

As promised a post with wreath inspiration!! I love making wreaths, looking at them, making peeks of pretty ones and also buying pretty ones ❤ I know especially for the people in the Netherlands and in Belgium that it's kinda weird to start working on your Christmas decorations, when we are first celebrating 'Sinterklaas'. But you know how it takes (a little) more time if you like to make decorations, cards or gifts yourself. I love collecting ideas and making a head start ;) All images below were found at weheartit.com. Enjoy!

Hope you feel inspired!
Have fun making your own wreath ❤

XO. Vera

crafty results after the weekend

I'm glad to have finished several projects that i had started working on. I decorated the cardboard cradle with wallpaper and some woodgrain sticky foil, made this fabric wreath and i finished my crochet bag with a flower and made a peek :)

i saw a peek on weheartit a while
ago and i'm happy that i finally
managed to make my own. i also
added 2 frosty lilac roses ❤

I did some crafting downstairs
yesterday and i found a great
spot to hang my fabric wreath ❤

my third crochet bag (slightly bigger
than the one before). Velma was so
inspired by my other bag and made
a lovely one herself ❤ link to her blog

I made a to do list for myself with things that i hope to really do before our baby boy arrives ;) My energy level is changin' and i can do less things on one day then normal, so that is something that i have to adjust too. Doing a nap in the afternoon and spreading my to do things is the solution ;) I will be back with another wreath post, full with inspiration! XO.

cute laptop stickers

Well hello on this first Saturday in november :) This morning i did a little gardening, some crafting and playing with my new laptop (yes a little geekie ha ha). When i was on Twitter i read the tweet from my sweet friend Esther with a peek of this cute laptop allstar sticker, just love it ♥ I knew there were laptop stickers, but not that that cute!! They are selling them on Etsy also and that is were i found the rest of these images, aren't they HOLY CUTE??

If you have a great laptop sticker or know any links, please share :D This afternoon we are going to Harolds parents. We haven't seen them in a while, so they can finally admire my growing belly :) What are your weekend plans? XO. Vera
