DIY -flying paper bat-

Since it is exactly Halloween today, i have a very easy DIY that you can make yourself or let your kids make them. I used to make them with my class and we hang them on the ceiling (sadly i never made a picture, so i can't show it to you). I found this idea in the craft magazine 'Ella Creatief' a few years ago.

DIY - flying paper bat-
Supplies
- pattern of the bat
- black paper
- white pencil or marker
-scissors
- (carving) mat
-crop-a-dile
- (black) yarn

1. this is the pattern that you will need

You can copy this image and paste it in a programm
that you like and print it. Cut it out, now you have a
model that you can use to make as many bats as you like!

Draw this model on black paper with a white pencil &
cut your bats out.

I kept my model on white, because that's much easier
for you to see, compared to black paper ;)

2. Get your scissors and a little (carving) mat.
Fold your scissors out to the max (see peek)

3. We are not gonna cut!! We're gonna use our
scissors to 'fold' the paper with the scissors.
Follow the dotted lines with your scissors
and press them on to your paper (gently, but
not too gently!).

4. Now you can fold the wings of your bat.
Going up, down, up, down...

5. You can choose to make a little hole in the head
of your bat and pull some yarn through and hang it
(i used to do it like this!).

You can also choose to use a needle and some black
thread and pull it through the two little dots on
each side of the wings.

6. Punch your holes and finish your bat.

Happy Halloween!!

just a spark of Xmas ☆

Hello hello sweet readers of mine! My babyboy is growing fast in my belly, as you can see :) Yesterday i went to the gardencentre. I wanted to buy a few outdoor plants for the fall/winter season and off course i came back home with more ;) I also bought a plant with pink flowers for the livingroom, fleece socks, candles and a perfect grey tray to put the candles on. The gardencentre had part of it's Christmas decoration corners already done. So i walked into a magical Xmas world ❤ I know it's early but i couldn't resist those cute owls, lilac butterflies, a lovely angel and some shiny pink hangers for the tree. I'm really thinkin' about decorating my tree pink this year....i'm dreaming....

Okay i'm off preparing (an early) dinner and then i will be going to my pregnancy yogalesson. I hope i can manage to draw the winner of my giveaway tonight! The thing is that i have been feeling soooo tired all day, that even my nap didn't preform his normale miracle. So if i can't make it tonight, it will be early tomorrow i promise!! XO. Vera

our lazy sunday...

Yesterday we thougth it was time for a relaxing sunday and time for each other ❤ So that's also the reason that i'm posting these photos today instead of yesterday ;) In the morning there was a clear blue sky, so after breakfast we went to the forest and made a walk from about 1 hour. We couldn't time it more perfect, because the moment we stepped into our car, it began to rain!

After our forestwalk, i made a homemade lunch
with pumpkinsoup and bread out of the oven, yummie!

After the lunch we sat down on the couch and
started watching 'Doctor Zhivago'.
This classic movie lasts 4 hours, so we had a
break after two hours and i made vegetarian moussaka.
After dinner we finished watching the movie :)
I just love these kind of sundays,
when are we planning to do this again?

XO. Vera

Yay i finally used my flowerloom!

A while back i already bought this set, but it was still lying inside a box at my craftspace (i know shame on me!) After i bought mine my mom said hey i believe i have such a thing at home and she did :) So my flowerloom wasn't lying there all alone, but it had some compagny :P The last few days i've been sorting out my craft things and found the box with the flowerloom again :) All the things that i need to finish or get started with i collected on my crafttable, so it's time for some action! My first action: use the flowerloom! I finally found a great instruction video, so i could get started at once. If you like to watch the video it's at Martha Stuarts website, here's the link
this is the flowerloom set that i have

curious ☆

I know that a lot of my readers are curious about the nursery (and me off course ha ha). Today i'm exactly 28 weeks and our baby boy is growing oh my! I bought the cutest belly thing! There is a bar code on it and above there is written in Dutch 'tenminste houdbaar tot' translated it's 'best before'.... january the 13th :D

I have a few peeks of our nursery in progress! I always love make over with peeks from before and after don't you? The sideboard still isn't sold, but hopefully it will be or else we'll have to move it to the attic :( It's sort of standing in the way, because the wall behind it is getting a forest wallpaper makeover. There's also an old computer that we don't use anymore, a chair etc Hopefully my parents are able to come next week, so that we can begin with the wallpaper job!

The cardboard cradle is from cradle to cradle! We're gonna keep this at our own bedroom for the first few weeks during the night (at least that's the plan!).

our cute bambi lamp ❤

i've sorted his little clothes, awww

Hope you liked these little (messy) peeks :D I know i said that i would draw a winner today for my giveaway, but i wanted to give you all a little more time! You can join in until coming tuesday (october 26th), here's the link Don't be shy :) XO.

DIY -mini fall scrapbook-

Fall is one of my favorite seasons and i've been wanting to make a mini scrapbook for a while now and i finally did and i thought it would be great to share it with you :)

DIY -mini fall scrapbook-
Everyone has his own favorite scrapbook supplies,
here are some of mine:
-crop-a-dile
-japanese tape
-feathers
-polaroids
-felt
-cute ribbons

I choose to make this mini scrapbook in a leaf shape. I wanted to be sure that my polaroid peeks would fit, so i placed one polaroid on the paper and drew a leaf around that.

Cut out the shape you like and use the first one as a model (this way all your pages will be all the same size). I used red, white and orange paper and drew the leafs with a marker. Cut all the leafs out of your paper.

Here are all the leafs and i made one from felt. This one is going to be used as front page!
Make one hole in the top of al your leafs with your crop-a-dile.

I used a cute fall decoration and stappled it with a brown piece of ribbon on to the front. I also added the month and date on the leaf! Now it's time to fill your leafs with: photos, fall decorations, favorite things to do during the fall, favorite fall recipes etc Here are a few of my pages...

When your done with your pages you can easily bind the leafs together with a cute ribbon and you are done!

Have fun making your own fall mini scrapbook!
XO. Vera
