Just some sleep...

Hi :) Great to be back at my blog to write a little post :) Everything went just fine last monday evening :) The only downpoint was that it was already 10 o'clock when i got home. My head was so full with work that i first took a shower and watched the gilmore girls :) So i went to sleep about 12 o'c clock (with a empty head) and that is pretty late for me! Usually i go to bed about 10.30 when i'm working & that together with the hour switch for summertime, i was sooo tired yesterday. I felt like i had a jetlag and hangover... all i wanted was go to bed all day. Pfff i was so glad that my working day was over! I slept at 10 o' clock last night and slept almost 11 hours in a row. Today i did the groceries, read some magazines, watched some more gilmore girls episodes, read blogs, send emails, made some phone calls.... but all in a slow gear ;) Hopefully tomorrow i feel better!

the magazines of today :)

I also received some happy mail today :)
Thanks Mika for your pretty cards!

chairs chairs chairs

Hello sweet blogreaders, i hope you are havin' a lovely Sunday :) My sunday is filled with doing my laundry, cleaning, tidy up the place, a visit from Harolds parents and hopefully a little painting! The attic is a mess since i've brought everything back from the childerens shop (if you have missed that they are closing). I have to find a place where to put it all ;) We're planning to hire a handyman to make sliding doors at our attic, this way we're gonna use the empty space & it's much better organised. On the internet there's a site where you can put down the job that you like to be done and handymans respond to that & then you can pick one and make an appointment. It feels great beeing busy in your own house!

Yesterday we went to 'Het Kabinet' and to the 'Trendhopper' (both beautiful stores) to start our surch for chairs that would fit at our white round table. We saw a lot of pretty chairs, but not everything was suitable for a round table & some of theme were a litlle to expensive. When we walked into the Trendhopper we immediately fell for this fuchsia chair from Esprit the 'wave'. Harold made a picture of me in the chair & then we decided to buy it :) And now it looks like the chair has always been in our livingroom :D

At the end of our surch for perfect chairs, we made the choice between these two: the butterfly chair and the Jamal chair. The butterfly chair would fit perfectely and we were planning of buying them in silver. The only down point with these chairs is that they are fine to sit on for a while & i love sitting at the dinnertable ;) I think i would buy two for my creative space, that would be perfect ;) We compared both chairs and decided to buy the Jamal chairs, because they are more comfortable. The chairs are white, but have a sort of purple glow... we like!!

The pink chair was a stay or go choice, but for the chairs we have to wait for 2-6 weeks :( Although it's not to bad, because our handmade cupboard is about done at the same time, yay! Can't wait!!! I hope you liked it that i shared my home decoration ideas and steps with you :D Okay i'm going to enjoy this relaxed sunday, before busy monday arrives. Tomorrow i will be very busy at school. After my workday i rush home, make some dinner and rush back to school for our parent talks :) At thursday evening we have part 2!

I can't believe Easter is almost here!! I really had in mind to make some Easter pretties, but i don't know if i will be able to make what's all been floating my head ;) I am working on a post for the bird of a feather girls and that's all about making flowers with different materials :)

Have a lovely, magical sunday! Kiss XO.

Every day life...

A very good afternoon to you! Yesterday i didn't make a post anymore, because my other one at the birds of a feather girls was time consoming. I did make a link, so if you have missed it look below ;) Today it was a little sad... The childerens shop that was selling my paintings, felt creations, little books etc is closing :( I already knew this for a few months, but still when the real moment is there is really the end of something. I'm not emotional or any thing, but it would have been nice if they would have stayed. They aren't opening a shop somewhere else, so i really have to think about what i am planning to do. This is also one of the reasons that i started following the Indie Business class from RVA. I already have some ideas... still all in little clouds ;)

Right now the hallway downstairs is filled with paintings ha ha. After i finish this post i will move everything to my creative and colorful attic & take stock. The latest isn't one of my strong quality's lately. I must say i'm a Capricorn, so that means a perfectionist & organiser :D It's a good thing that i don't have a labelmachine or i would label the whole house.. no no it's not that bad :P

found this painting on weheartit,
just love it!

Yesterday we went to Ikea and bought a white round table, with a middle that you can fold out to make the table larger. First things first... This was situation 1: the teak table and chairs.

Situation 2: I painted the teak wooden table and chairs. The table got a white color and the chairs light white/purple/white color. This way it seemed smaller in our livingroom space, but still it wasnt't it. We really love the table so we're keeping it upstairs & hopefully use it in our next house ha ha We're not planning of living here like forever and if we do, we could always sell our table and chairs. Maybe i'm even gonna use it as a desk.

Okay and this is how it looks now. I made a few peeks, also with and without flash, we have such a difficult light downstairs for taking pictures. We like the table, but you know how it goes! Now we have to move the lamp, maybe remove the bookshelves and we're having doubts about the chairs. Maybe i will make chaircovers for the top, what do you think?? We're also waiting for a little cabinet (that's beeing handmade in India) and until that time we're not removing anything ;)

At the Ikea i saw these blue frames and they are perfect for my Elsie collection :D

Tonight we have an outing with our family,
we're going bowling :)
What are your plans?
XO.

a happy-crazy-bow branch for Easter

Today i was working on my DIY for the Birds of a feather girls blog & came up with another cute idea that i wanted to share :D I just adore making and wearing bows in all sorts and colors. They are really happy and girly, just like me ha ha. You probably have some bows lying around and if you don't you can easily make them yourself with some cute ribbons. A while ago i made a post about making your own bows step by step, if you have missed that look here. Okay back to decorating your branch ;) I find it handy if the bows have a little clip on the back, but do what ever you like. Okay... collect your bows and hang them in your curly willow branch or in any other decorating branch (i used a pink and glittery one). You can choose to use only the bows or mix it up and also use butterflies, eggs, birds and make a happy-crazy-bow branch for Easter!

Curious about my DIY? Check our birds blog tomorrow :D
XOXO.

Some Marocco style

For years i have been so in love with the Moroccan house style, that i decided to make a post about it :) I have traveled to Marocco in the year 2000 and was impressed with the colorful buildings and there lovely teapots and pretty colorful glasses. I really enjoy some bling bling in my house, just to spice it up a little :) Lots of things are still handmade, and if you are traveling there make sure to make a good bargain! Compared to the European prices it's cheap, but still they like to 'play' a selling game. I really must admit that it's not my best quality, but that is where Harold fits in perfectely ha ha I have found some pretty inspiring photos on the internet. A few pictures don't have a source... sorry!

ENJOY!

Work..

Welcome on this Monday evening :) I had a stressy and busy workday and that won't be any different tomorrow. It's extra busy at work, because we have to write schoolreports for the kids. This week the childeren receive them and then the week after we have appointments with their parents. Tomorrow i also have my performance appraisal. So i really needed a little happy break and decided to make blogpost :)

I found this picture on a Dutch blog that writes posts about living and raising your kids in these moderns times. With the picture below they wrote a whole post about the subject 'Don't let childeren learn too fast and too soon'. It's better to learn how to read and write when you are 7 years old. Studies have already proven that country's (Sweden/Finland) that work like this at their schools book better results :)

I noticed that the last few weeks i haven't had the time or energy to create some pretties of my own :( I really do miss that! For me blogging is a mixed balance between daily life, inspiration around me, inspiration for home/garden, DIY ideas and crafting :) I really love blogging and i'm always thinkin' about new topic ideas :) But for now no new topics... i'm off to visit my bed ;)

Wishing you all a goodnight and sweet dreams! XO.
